Hackney Roots kicks off a new strand of UK Jewish Films education work. It is a film based resource that explores representations of Jewish Identity.
The programme, targeted at Jewish schools and youth groups in north London communities aims to educate the significance of Hackney in contemporary Jewish identity and Anglo-Jewish cultural heritage. As well as developing young people’s critical understanding of film representation, Hackney Roots also offers opportunities for young people to create their own films which they can enter into a filmmaking competition, the winners of which will have their films shown as trailers before the final screening event in April 2014.
The website consists of curriculum-focused activities including interactive tasks built to work on both desktop and mobile devices (HTML5).
